Ottawa once again

Yes, well here we are once again in the mighty Ottawa.
33 degrees today, and everyone is going Senators mental...

a sea of red by the city hall - not quite the sort of thing that would happen if a certain suburban team in the southeast of England were to make it to the FA Trophy final.
It would appear that there is a proper identity to be had, something most definitely missing in most towns in England.

'Go Sens Go' appears to be the order of the day.

isn't it marvelous...

... when you hear that they are seriously going through with the redundancies at the end of the year at my old stomping ground.
should have stayed there until now - 7 months and 16 days on, and they are getting a nice juicy payout.
wouldn't have minded, but some of them didn't even turn up for work for 6 months at a time...

i wonder if they have left my old job open?
doubt it - probably being done by a 15 year old with more qualifications...

battlestar galactica, season 3

i am liking this programme a lot.

especially 'sharon' or rather 'athena' even though she is a cylon.

unreal adverts part 2

unreal - so watching telly last night - advert came on (what a surprise). Anyway, it was for duracell, and to cut a long story short, there's these 2 aliens that need a jump start, and use a duracell bunny to get their alien flying saucer going.
all very fine, but they put the word 'dramatization' at the bottom of the screen. i mean, come off it - ya don't say. i thought it was real, and the first recorded instance of life from another planet was recorded by the ad company and a duracell bunny.

whatever next.

been a while

yes well now the month of November is upon us once again.
weather starting to turn a bit taters - bit of snow last week, but currently a pleasant +8 degrees, so not too bad.

saw 'the prestige' last week - very good as it happens. good old twist towards the end, and very well acted - not quite sure what david bowie was doing there, but, there you go.

on another note, was hoping to get some sort of senators beanie hat, but they only had kids ones or ones with ridiculous bobbles on the top, or things floating about to cover ones ears - a la mode deputy dawg - whats that all about.

still, now's the time to get shortsleeved shirts and stuff - all cheap cheap.
unless you go in to 'banana republic' where its really nice stuff, but bit on the costly tip.

and why oh why oh why do they have adverts every bloody 10 seconds on CBC?
i mean, you just get in to watching frasier, and he says one comedy line and then there's an advert for canadian tire or something.
what's that all about - enough's enough's - this is why a 90 minute film takes about 2 and half hours methinks.

whatever next - they'll be letting you turn right on a red light next.
honestly...

bored out of my tiny little mind once again in ottawa

yes well been here for nearly 5 months, and would like to say that i am thoroughly enjoying it.
well i can say it, but i think i would be lying.
sounds a bit harsh, but not much fun when you're 'straight outta lo-cash' to coin a phrase.

today, cycled to a local cheeky hip-hop style record shop, that used to sell superb mix cds and breakbeat albums. alas, that has closed down and is now a punk/new-wave shop instead.

not my bag, baby, but did have a rather good window display. and if you look at the record on the left hand side, it is none other than this one.

marvelous - now did the 70s throwback matey in the shop realise what an icon ms. woodhouse was? or just taking the piss.
the next shop along had the blue peter annual 1979 written by john noakes.

- it didn't actually.

bored out of my tiny little mind

well, soddus allus from the agencies, although have seen a cheeky job with cbc. what a result, the job spec didn't have fluent french in the pre-requisites.
fingers crossed i get a somewhat favourable response, however i am not holding my breath...

bored bored bored today. weather has chilled a touch, so not quite as tropical as it has been recently.

still, we have the mighty hell's kitchen on once again - its the final tonight, and i reckon heather will win it.
shame i have no cash to put a wager on it.
not the most flattering of photos, granted.

austrian chocolate wafers

well, i had no idea that austria was a force in the world chocolate wafer market, but after trying a 'Manner' chocolate wafer, it appears that they are.
still not as good as the pink ones in family circle though.

lost at football once again

oh dear
played football last night once again in a mid table clash in the ottawa sports and social association pool 2. and we lost, cause we were shite.
mind you, the opposition got a bit fruity - going in a bit strong on some challenges, bearing in mind its only a 'jumpers for goalposts' type affair in the middle of a park. most unsporting.

and new film out soon - 'snakes on a plane' - what's that all about?
looks like a good one to miss.

question

ok, so what's the score with the contestants on wheel of fortune?
why do they constantly clap for no reason - even when they get an answer wrong, and lose all their winnings? - i reckon they have a big elastic band around both wrists or something.
honestly, they are like seals at feeding time.

and how thick are some of them - the clue is something like 'fruit' and the clue is b_nana.
and they say 'can i have an 'o' please.
whatever next.

oh, and hell's kitchen once again was a winner.
surprised fat sweaty keith got voted off - since he was the best throughout the last 7 shows, and had a mare and a row this time. So now between the two birds.
what excitement for a monday evening.
